    IESO investing $3.2M in Confederation College energy program

    October 2025: Working with Blackstone Energy Services Inc., Synergy North, and Powerconsumer Inc., Confederation College is installing and piloting a large-scale electric heat pump and thermal storage. With $3.2 million in funding from the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO)’s Grid Innovation Fund, this project brings sustainable technology, energy efficiency and hands-on education for its students.

    Enbridge provides $278,000 to Headwaters Health Care Centre

    February 2026: Working with Blackstone Energy Services, Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) in Orangeville, Ontario, completed a major upgrade to the hospital’s boiler and steam systems, reducing natural gas use and GHG emissions. HHCC qualified for Enbridge Gas Energy Conservation’s highest-value custom incentives and received nearly $278,000.

  • Solar farm

    5MW Solar Farm at Alderville First Nation receives $1.25M boost

    March 2013 – The Alderville First Nation solar farm project—which claims to be Canada’s first alternative energy project fully owned by a First Nation community – is one step closer to completion after a $1.25 million boost from the government. Featuring 2300 solar panels on 45 acres of property, the farm is estimated to generate more than $56 million in revenue for the community over 20 years.
